I have had great service from the Afrihost walk-in centre in Rivonia Road. My experience was only with LTE and the staff were very helpful and courteous. I am streaming ('Teeveeing' - live UK TV) and using movie streaming apps. I started using an older ZTE router but soon changed to the recommended TP-Link unit. I also started off with the 20mbps package but again it was smoothly increased this to 50mbps. I have now found 3 other local residents who are paying R699pm for speeds they don't need and who would also like to save R400pm using LTE. The attitude of fibre-only companies who insist that they cannot reduce speed and cost for existing fibre users, will bite them in the backside as long as alternatives are around.

...there are reasons why I chose Afrihost as my service provider over 8 years ago... firstly their advertising was 'catchy'... they responded swiftly when I needed them to...they provided the connectivity they promised continually...I briefly discontinued my relationship with them due to moving from Durban to Johannesburg... and the reconnection with them was absolutely hassle free...as was my move from ADSL to Fibre...I then disconnected again when I moved suburbs and experienced the same dedication that they have provided me with since the start of our relationship all those years ago...their whatsapp help line and their 'call me back' response times are mind blowing to say the least and they have an awesome 'Client Zone'. Great hosting provider! Everything is extremely automated and immediate. Representatives on WhatsApp are shockingly experts and have a great understanding of project hosting. First hosting provider I’ve dealt with in South Africa that have people with that kind of expertise.
