Fibre service provider's contractor has advised that the roads are still inaccessible and will provide an update once alternative routes are available
Services on the Swellendam–Caledon–Riversdale route remain affected due to a widespread power failure impacting multiple sites along this corridor. The root cause is storm-related infrastructure damage, compounded by severe flooding in the area that is currently preventing Frogfoot technicians from safely accessing the affected sites. Generator deployment is planned for all three sites; however, access roads remain impassable due to flooding. No confirmed ETA is available at this time. Further updates will be communicated as soon as conditions change.
