Never ever have problems with these guys as everything is always working! Forgot to let them know i have re located, my roughter disconnected. Got in contact with their whatsapp chat, it was sorted within seconds! These guys know what they doing! Awesome customer service!

Afrihost's philosophy is simple: Customer Service first, and Quality products. Their staff are always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable and help all hours of the day. And when something goes wrong, they resolve it speedily. Always a pleasure dealing with them. Again. They managed to help me in minutes and sort out my connection issue (was my fault, I reset my router settings). 5 stars plus!

I'm a Vuma Reach client & also the admin on a WhatsApp support group for Vuma Reach in my community. From my personal experience as a client & an unofficial support for the community Fibre issues, I personally would recommend Afrihost as the best choice for a Vuma Reach ISP.

Afrihost has been my cost-effective Internet Service Provider of choice for a few years and the mobile wireless connection has always been fast and reliable; the accounts and invoices clear and prompt; and service responses to queries when required efficient. I am sorry to be having to leave them due to failure of the Network provider and no exact replica available through their offerings .

General terms

  • Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by Openserve, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.
  • The advertised line speeds are a representation of the maximum possible throughput on that package. This speed is dependent on and varies from exchange to exchange as regulated by Openserve. In certain areas, some speeds are not achievable.
  • Due to Openserve infrastructure restrictions, some line speeds may not be available in your area. Check coverage in your area to see which packages are available in your area.
  • All Pure DSL packages are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Pure DSL accounts are locked to a single location. The location it gets locked to is the location you supply during sign up.
  • Regular Openserve copper line required to apply for a Pure DSL package. A voice line, however, is not required.
  • Performance is subject to contention. This means that data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Afrihost’s control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

  • Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.
