Terms and conditions

General terms

  • The installation and activation fees are prescribed by the last-mile provider, not Afrihost.
  • All packages are for residential signups only. Businesses, unfortunately, cannot sign up for these packages.
  • Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by our last-mile partners, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.

1 - Installation, cabling and lead times

  • The installation fee includes cabling up to 30 metres. If your installation requires additional cabling, a site survey will be done, after which you will receive a quote from the applicable last-mile provider. Should you choose to proceed, you will be liable for any additional costs incurred. The additional cabling is directly payable to the applicable last-mile provider.
  • Installation lead times are a guide based on averages and will vary. Line activation and connection times need to be added for full turnaround estimation.

2 - Activation fees

  • Activation fees are also applicable on line migrations (when you move from one ISP to another).

3 - WiFi router

  • No additional WiFi router will be shipped with the order. This is because a WiFi device is already included with the installation at the premises.

Shaping and prioritisation

  • Pure Fibre packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled - There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

Cancellation policy

  • Afrihost operates on month-to-month contracts. Either the Client or Afrihost may terminate the Agreement, or a particular Service, by giving one (1) full Calendar Month’s notice to the other.
    • For example, if notice of cancellation is given on the 15th of March, the Service will terminate on 30 April.
    • Specific Service Terms may allow for different notice periods as applicable.
    • Due to Services being paid for in advance, if notice of cancellation is submitted after 23:00 on the last day of a particular Calendar Month, the notice will be deemed to have been submitted in the following Calendar Month. As a result, the Service will terminate at the end of the Calendar Month after that. For example, if notice of cancellation is submitted on 31 May at 23:45, the notice period will be considered as the Calendar Month of June, and the service will terminate on 31 July. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that cancellation is submitted timeously. Afrihost will not be held liable for any losses or damages in this regard.
  • Should you cancel your Pure Fibre less than 6 months from activation, or your account falls into arrears, you will be charged a cancellation fee of R999.
  • The cancellation policy is NOT applicable to Vuma Reach.
