I'm on another network and want to keep my number. How do I move to AirMobile?
If you currently have a prepaid SIM card from another network, you must port your number to AirMobile.
Cancellation and handset fees may apply with your current Mobile Service Provider.
To port to AirMobile, click the "Try us out for FREE" button and follow the prompts during sign up.

If I port to AirMobile, how long must I wait before I can port to another service provider?
You will have to wait 60 days. This is due to regulatory practices and not AirMobile specific.

SIM cards.
Do you offer eSIMs?
Yes, you can sign up for an AirMobile eSIM. If your device is eSIM compatible, it is the quickest way to get up and running.
Not all devices are eSIM compatible, so make sure to check our list of eSIM compatible devices.
Can I get a physical SIM card?
Yes, we also have physical SIM cards.
All AirMobile SIMs are 3-way breakable and can break into the following sizes:
- standard,
- micro, and
- nano.
Our SIMs are for smart and not-so-smart phones and will fit most of the latest devices.
Make sure to always first check which SIM size your device takes before breaking the SIM. Using an incorrectly sized SIM can damage the device and void the warranty.
Once I have my SIM card, am I activated?
It depends on whether you are getting a new number or porting your existing number to AirMobile.
If you’re getting a new number from AirMobile.
Insert (or download) the SIM into the device. Network configuration settings will automatically be sent to your device. Alternatively, you can manually set up your APN by visiting setup.airmobile.co.za.
If you're porting to AirMobile.
Once you receive your new AirMobile SIM card, please DO NOT insert it into a device until the porting process is complete. When you get your SIM, visit setup.airmobile.co.za for a step-by-step guide.
Does an AirMobile SIM card expire?
No, your AirMobile SIM card will not expire.

How do I pay for AirMobile?
You can choose to pay either via Debit Order or Credit Card. You can easily manage your payment details in ClientZone or the App.
What is AirMobile's standard call rate?
The standard AirMobile call rate to all South African networks is 64c per minute (charged per second). This call rate is available as standard on AirMobile SIMs. Visit our AirMobile call rates page for more information.
Please note, however, that international roaming is not enabled at this time. We are working on adding this feature as soon as possible.
How do I keep track of my spend and usage?
You can easily manage your AirMobile products via ClientZone or the App.
You view your airtime/data balances at any time and get a detailed breakdown of your airtime and data usage.
Ensure you never get cut off by enabling usage notifications and setting up your Auto Top Up rules.
In the Accounts section, you can manage your payment details, make payments and view your invoices.
Validity and rollover of airtime and data.
Monthly allocated airtime and data.
Monthly allocated airtime and data will expire at the end of the following month.
For example, the airtime and data allocated in January will only expire at the end of February.
Airtime and data top ups.
Data top ups.
- Valid until the end of the calendar month after the month in which it was allocated.
- For example, data allocated on the 15th of January will be valid until midnight on the last day of February.
Airtime top ups.
- Valid until the end of the year after the year in which it was allocated.
- For example, airtime allocated on the 15th of June will expire at midnight on the 31st of December the following year.
Auto Top Up.
What is Auto Top Up?
With Auto Top Up enabled, you'll be topped up with mini bundles (airtime and/or data) until a specific maximum you set is reached.
This allows you to have control to avoid bill shock, but the flexibility to not get cut off when it matters most.
How do I manage my Auto Top Up settings?
You can manage your Auto Top Up settings in ClientZone or the App.
- Select the applicable cell number.
- Go to Auto Top Up.
From here, you can set your own Auto Top Up rules, or if you prefer to top up manually, you can disable this function.

What can I transfer?
You can transfer airtime and mobile data that is active on your mobile number.
Please note, however, that any promotional airtime or data CANNOT be transferred.
