Out of the numerous ISPs we've been with, Afrihost have been the best. Yes, some days are not always great but there's the saying "You can't have a rainbow without a little rain"

What an experience! I decide to collect my router myself as I was too excited to wait for delivery. As soon as I entered the building, I felt this vibe of happiness and excitement. I couldn't help but notice the beautiful break/lunch area set out for the employees. The representative who assisted me (unfortunately his name was to long to remember) was extremely helpful, friendly and made me feel right at home. Thank you Afrihost for the great experience today and for looking after your employees so well!

Super amazing. Been with the service now for 5 years - starting with just email domain, then website hosting, now added wifi to the packages. Always available to assist (when it's not after hours), super friendly and efficient. Would totally recommend to other consumers looking for reliable and tech-savvy providers.

As far as their customer service is concerned, they're the best company I've had interactions with. Even with the most frustrating issues — that can sometimes take much longer than anticipated to resolve — I've always found them responsive, patient and helpful. It's great to see a company that makes an effort to train their consultants to attend to clients with the respect and patience they afford you, and to do so consistently irrespective of who the luck of the draw allocates you to. With some companies, you have to ask for a specific person to help. With Afrihost, never. Thank you. May you grow from strength to strength.

I have been working with Afrihost for over two years now and they are consistent in terms of quality, value for money, professionalism...you name it. Guys you have been there for us when we had no clue what we expected from a website, you provided us with all resources needed for building own website and designs to suit us. Much appropriated team Afrihost, keep it up!!

Afrihost has been great from the start of Activating my service all the way through to setting up my router. Their staff is helpful and well trained to assist. Their feedback on open requests is impeccable. Moving over from Vodacom fibre to Afrihost has been the best move. Looking forward to having them as our ISP. Thank you Sihle, Eugene, Ompha and Buhle for your great service. Special thanks to Eugene for getting my line released by Vodacom and seeing the order through with all its difficulties.

Need help?

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
