Service is always really good and they've proven reliable over the last 2 years. My only issue is that their phone lines don't work on holidays and weekends. They do have a very helpful WhatsApp help centre that's available daily, but it also has shorter hours on weekends and holidays. So if you have an issue on a holiday, depending on the time, you might have to sit tight until normal business hours

Amazing, I got from registering to delivery from Thursday afternoon to Monday, if it wasn't for the weekend I probably would have got it sooner. You RICA with them and everything is activated as soon as you open your package, just plug in, enter your password and you good to go. Signal is awesome as well. They are always happy to help on the whatsapp channel. I have not battled once to get hold of anyone. Well done to Afrihost team.

Effective, efficient, dealing with them via WhatsApp chat so easy, love when they also send messages about outages and when it's restored. Highly recommend choosing Afrihost paired with Openserve.

The staff are very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. I haven't had any issues with Afrihost this far and it seems the only time the connection is down is because of loadshedding but quite efficient in fixing and fast.

I cannot complain, from DSL I had years ago, mobile internet to the hosting plans it is affordable, and service has always been consistant, I love Afrihost, I just wish our Area had Fibre and I would use them for that as well.

In the last 4 to 5 years we have had no issues with them. Outages did occur but were quickly resolved and Helpers were very kind and efficient at relaying information.

I have never had any issues with Afrihost and leave now only because I have moved to the UK. Recently I realised I was still paying for email and was helped quickly and efficiently on the WA line, even though I didn't have my original phone number to receive OTPs.

I've been with Afrihost for 3 years now, and I have had the most amazing experience with them. I have had to relocate my fibre three times and they are so helpful.

After a harrowing and unhelpful experience with Mweb, where we were on hold for 5 days on their telephone lines and whatsapp help chat, with no resolution of the problem since the 3/11 to date, I decided to move to Afrihost. What an extremely pleasurable experience. The complete opposite to Mweb. I dealt with Happiness today, and this person should be given a raise. Thank you Happiness!!!

I love Afrihost and their staff. Always polite, proffesional and customer oriented from the reception to the technical side. I have never had any problems with Afrihost for the past 8 years of being the client here.

So I have been with Afrihost for almost a year, it was a rocky road to be honest in the beginning (bad customer care), but all things said and looking at the entire situation as a whole - I would say the positives do out way the negatives. My biggest gripe was having to work with Openserve in trying to successfully schedule a day for Fiber installation, spoiler, four bookings were made and confirmed by Openserve, that never went anywhere, they just would not show up, regardless of the four "technicians", times or dates, they are unreliable in every sense of the word, and I would highly suggest Afrihost drop their partnership with them asap.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
