I have been with Afrihost since the days of dial-up. While I have tried other ISPs from time to time, I keep coming back to Afrihost. Why? Value for money and real responsive support.

I have had numerous telephone conversations with Afrihost when technical diificulties arise..... They are very fast and efficient, they resolve any issues to get you up and running in no time, very stable and reliable ISP. Definitely recommend them to anyone needing an ISP to handle their fiber needs. Great service and great aftersale service. 9/10 *********

I've been with Afrihost for about 9 years in different forms. I took out their early mobile data solution and always had good service. I was also on their web hosting solution for a while with great service and helpful agents. We now have our family's data plans through Afrihost as well as our Fiber. There is no company more dedicated to being helpful - even if their side has issues. What I really appreciate is that they run an open com's line for their issues. Instead of you having to ask if there is something wrong, check their website and the status of the connection of your area, or your data, or your product. Afrihost is brilliant.

I've had my fair share of difficulties with Afrihost over the last 8 or so years, but I always come back to them for connectivity as their deals can rarely be beaten, and I have had zero issues with them in the last 2 years. Service and customer care levels seem to have taken a turn for the better and amidst a pandemic they provided incredibly helpful deals when wallets grew thinner!

We have been with Afrihost as our fiber supplier for six months now, and we couldn't be happier with their service. They have consistently provided us with excellent support and have been a pleasure to work with.

I’ve used Afrihost for longer than I can remember. I’ve used them for adsl lines back in the day and then vdsl (I actually tested their fair use policy and made it on the top 10 highest data users in the country and not shaped or throttled once on a 20Mb vdsl line) I’ve used them for small businesses and I’ve been with their mobile data plan for years now and working in the IT industry, I’ve dealt with a lot of service providers and as a data provider. I HIGHLY recommend Afrihost to everyone and anyone who has mtn! Use Afrihost data! One down side is that they rely on third party companies (helkom, frogfoot and whoever) almost all the issues I’ve had are with the physical providers. And Afrihost support has always been extremely helpful even with dealing with third parties like telkom. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ there. 6 stars. Afrihost is a solid data provider

I’ve had some problems with their service at times over nearly 20 years but all in all I’ve found Afrihost much better than ISPs I’ve tried previously and since the introduction of fibre it’s generally been plain sailing.

The best fiber technology I know. It's worth the price. No outages and most importantly any assistance you need you get it really quickly with the help from the Whatsapp chat option and the agents know their product and know what they're doing. Very friendly and supportive

Every service provider has issues here and there. Afrihost has had the least issues for me so far. They are quick to assist when there is a issue. They have also given me the most stable connection so far.

Been my isp in the adsl times, and I only left because a rival was the only one supplying fibre at my house. Moving back to afrihost now as fibre is now available through them as well. I am paying a little bit more for their service as well, so should tell you everything about what I think of them. Great company.

The agent was patient and always polite when getting back to me during my interaction via WhatsApp. I was assisted with my query and was asked to assist with any other queries. The agent was again patient advising how to resolve my query. I was also assisted as to how to make the payment on my app. Truly appreciate the customer service provided.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
