I set up my parents fibre account. The fibre was installed by vumatel and Afrihost their ISP. As Afrihost wasn’t open, I tried the WhatsApp function. Germaine was the person helping me on the other end. He/She was really professional, helpful and we managed to set up the fibre and get everything working in no time. Really GREAT service. My experience with Afrihost has been amazing, the agents are kind understand your issue and tries to help to the best of their ability. Unfortunately Openserve makes their jobs a bit harder... Amazing team @ Afrihost: Sfiso M, Siphamandla N, Siphiwe M. I've dealt with these 3 agents and they clearly show that Afrihost is a top notch company. @ Management well done on having these amazing agents, I'm sure the company is overrun with top staff. I love Afrihost. Their service is one of the rarest. All consultants are very friendly and kind, they're very responsive and forever ensures you understand they are working to resolve what your issues are by constantly checking in on the customer. I requested for an immediate call back service at 22:11 and the a lady called me immediately. I thought it was a hoax but everything they say about their reputation as a company and the level of service they offer, I'm glad to say that they're 110% correct. I have been with Afrihost since 2013 and never had bad experience. I do all my data through Afrihost. I have 10Gig of data on my phone a month for only R150, and I think it is a very good deal. My data doesn't disappear like other people. The best service provider for me and my friends that use Afrihost now. 20 day + 20 knight data for my router at only R119, is a good price for me. Thanks Gian and your staff that make this possible.

My 2 year LTE contract with a mobile service provider ended in March 2020 - about the time when we had a national lockdown because of Covid-19. I have then decided to take the fibre option from one of the big cellular providers. These guys sent me from pillar to POST with the router, the temporary LTE and getting me up and running. When I contacted Afrihost, I have been assisted telephonically to determine my requirements. They've handled all the admin of cancelling the service which I did not receive from the other service provider and I have received my router on the same day. Afrihost did not dissapoint! It was the first time that I have received such great and quality service from a big brand in South Africa!!! I was able to work from home, with quality high speed internet!!! Afrihost is the BEST!... By far! Thank you Faith, Artur and Ruvan!

General terms

  • Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by Openserve, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.
  • The advertised line speeds are a representation of the maximum possible throughput on that package. This speed is dependent on and varies from exchange to exchange as regulated by Openserve. In certain areas, some speeds are not achievable.
  • Due to Openserve infrastructure restrictions, some line speeds may not be available in your area. Check coverage in your area to see which packages are available in your area.
  • All Pure DSL packages are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Pure DSL accounts are locked to a single location. The location it gets locked to is the location you supply during sign up.
  • Regular Openserve copper line required to apply for a Pure DSL package. A voice line, however, is not required.
  • Performance is subject to contention. This means that data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Afrihost’s control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.
