Despite delays due to increased demand, the support agents were very helpful in getting me connected. They were highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Still happy with the service!

As a long time Vodacom Fibre customer, I need to look for a new service provider as Vodacom Fibre couldn't resolve 2.4GhZ connectivity for over 7 weeks (since 13 April 2025) with numerous calls and reference numbers, all simply got closed without any resolution I asked ChatGPT for the best and most reliable Fibre Service Provider in Johannesburg, South Africa and Afrihost was the highest ranking and most recommended by ChatGPT. A simple prompts on their website and I was registered, sleek process and I also reach out to Afrihost WhatsApp for assistance and I was assisted by Mfanelo G, who was a pleasure to deal with, professional and sleek response, thank you Afrihost, I look forward to receiving my new router soon to with over Keep it up with the great service Afrihost Thank you Miguel Chan

The WhatsApp help service option from Afrihost is excellent. Dealt with my issue concisely. Person on the other end helping was for me the best when interacting with. Her turnaround time to providing responses was efficient and resolved my issue promptly.

Stellar service! Was connected within the hour! A direct contrast to MWEB who still has not figured out how to cancel my old wifi connection. Despite having requested it a month ago.

If you're tired of being tired, by these large cellphone companies, in 'South Africa', why don't you give, 'Afrihost' a try. Have come to an end of a two year contract, with one of the largest cellphone companies in 'South Africa'. Now, looking for a month to month deal. 'Afrihost', depending on your particular area and thus, cell / signal coverage, offers fantastic products and service. Their pricings are competitive, they utilise well versed and skilled, sales and back office personal. And every time that I need to communicate with one of their professionals, I'm always reassured and leave with total peace of mind. Well done. Keep it up. Thank you.

Patient assistants that will go and extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I had network problems using Data throughout my interaction and I was so scared that they will cut me off after being unresponsive but I always went back to our chats with an assistant kindly checking if I am still there.

We contacted Afrihost when we realized we had no wifi. They responded immediately. The communication was excellent. They are going out of their way to sort out the problem as they are aware our son needs wifi for online school. Since the fibre was installed, we haven't had any problems. We highly recommend Afrihost.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
