The WhatsApp assist feature for Afrihost is a great tool. I was able to be directed to an agent Arthur T within 5 minutes of logging my call. Arthur T then assisted me by asking the relevant questions to quickly understand my query. Upon investigation he was able to assist in getting my query escalated. Definitely loving the WhatsApp helpline especially because it’s available even on weekends.

Using them as my ISP for a long time now and have had zero issues with both AfriHost as my ISP and VumaTel as my line management team. Queries are easy to get assistance with via WhatsApp and all the consultants seem to be helpful, understanding and skilled to resolve them. I will highly recommend them.

I’ve been a client of Afrihost’s for years and have had only good and excellent service from them. They are fast, friendly, professional and their systems are easy to use. They are communicate and it feels like I’m dealing with people and not a company. I have not had such consistent quality experience from any other service provider. And from the last research I did, they have competitive prices. I highly recommend them.

Literally went from no fiber installed to having a connected line in a day. Shipping was mindblowing delivering less 18 hours after order was placed. Connection reliabile. Customers support was amazing, their customer support was incredible compared to other companies.

Way better than vuma or webafrica with regards to client feedback and transparency! Webafrica or vuma still owes me money which they refuse to refund. No way of contacting them with our being routed to different departments and still getting no answers

Would like to commend Harold from the Technical Department for the most amazing service. I had an problem with connectivity that initially did not seem like it could be resolved. General terms

  • Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by Openserve, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.
  • The advertised line speeds are a representation of the maximum possible throughput on that package. This speed is dependent on and varies from exchange to exchange as regulated by Openserve. In certain areas, some speeds are not achievable.
  • Due to Openserve infrastructure restrictions, some line speeds may not be available in your area. Check coverage in your area to see which packages are available in your area.
  • All Pure DSL packages are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Pure DSL accounts are locked to a single location. The location it gets locked to is the location you supply during sign up.
  • Regular Openserve copper line required to apply for a Pure DSL package. A voice line, however, is not required.
  • Performance is subject to contention. This means that data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Afrihost’s control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.
