The rating is based solely on the customer service agent I was in touch with-namely Gildo! What an amazing human interaction I had which has become so rare in customer support. I really appreciate his level of attentive listening, kindness and patience which resulted in me not cancelling services which I initially got in touch to do. Thank you Sir!!!

Man, the staff are just overall great people. I know everybody has their bad days but I wouldn't wanna make it hard for someone to assist me. I think respect us a 2 way street, if they respect me, I'll return the kind gesture. Thanks Afrihost.🙏🏼

Had a problem accessing the internet using my mobile data. Sanele refreshed my Sim and told me to put my phone on flight mode then to turn my phone off for 5 minutes. Once back on I turned on mobile data and it worked perfectly. I had been struggling for 2 days prior within 10 minutes on WhatsApp via wifi I was back up & sorted. Awesome

Not being technically savvy I followed the instructions on the wizard with some trepidation... I was still unsure so asked for help to check my configuring. Along with a few more questions such as how to get wifi to my TV and is a LAN cable the same as the Ethernet cable🤔 my questions were patiently answered I am now up and running.... thank you.. I was assisted by Prince on the Afrihost whatsaap help centre, firstly there was no waiting time, Prince immediately texted me and helped me with an issue that another ISP could not help me with, he did this within a couple of minutes, sent proof and assured me that my issue will be handled accordingly. I am grateful to Prince and the team at Afrihost for their excellent customer service and their willingness to help with my issue.

Apelele employee of Afrihost was nothing but exceptional in assisting me via WhatsApp to become a customer. I have only had good reviews about Afrihost from neighbours in our area. I hope to be one of lucky customers in this regard as I have endless connection issues with my current service provider.

Although it took almost 2 days to solve my connection problems, after getting a new router, my DSL line was active and working last night. Thank you for all the assistance Afrihost.

Afrohost is User friendly. They are very quick to respond. The whatsapp chat is the best. The product quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time since installation. Vumatel technicians failed to install my fibre line and wouldn't recommend them at all. I then changed to Openserve and received fast excellent service.

Afrihost's Webhosting is really good, their product offerings are great (we have upgraded three times seamlessly as our email demands were getting bigger) and their customer assistance via WhatsApp messenger is excellent! 10 out of 10 for Afrihost!

Highly recommend Afrihost as a service provider. Would still have preferred speaking to an agent via a phone line though instead of WhattsApp chat.

I had the pleasure of receiving assistance from Lindiwe, and I must say her expertise, patience, and professionalism were truly impressive. My fibre line had multiple issues — more than usual — yet she handled each one calmly and efficiently over the phone. Lindiwe resolved every problem quickly, with clear explanations and genuine respect throughout the entire process. It’s rare to come across someone so knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring everything works perfectly. Her excellent service turned what could have been a frustrating situation into a smooth and hassle-free experience. Thank you, Lindiwe, for going the extra mile and for making sure my connection is up and running better than ever. Your help is greatly appreciated! P.S. I truly wish we, as South Africans, could learn to appreciate and uplift one another more — not be divided by the elites who keep us apart along racial lines. Despite all the struggles we face as a nation, the true spirit and kindness of our people always shine through. I have lived in the USA since 2008, and yet my heart remains tied to the resilience and warmth I see in everyday South Africans. It reminds me that no matter how tough things get, our shared humanity and compassion for each other are what make us strong. May we never lose that, and may we always find ways to stand together, beyond the divisions others try to create.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.
