I've said 1000 times to everyone I know. Afrihost is the only reliable ISP that offers month - month upgrade and downgrade on a whim, pay pro rata. And yiu can do everything yourself in the client portal. It's so awesome. Moreover when you do need to talk to someone the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, and genuinely try live up to the name "the home of pure internet joy". I have never had a bad experience with afrihost. And don't mistake the ISP for telkom. Afrihost still have to handle telkom so there are frustration but they do everything in their power to ensure your joy is preserved. I'm so so impressed and I've been a loyal customer and my whole family since 2014. Thank you afrihost.

Afrihost - Webhosting. Pricing and Quality of service is on point - second to none. Every single time I email support for assistance im constantly blown away at the speed of the reply and the tech knowledge - politeness and care. Last support ticket your engineers even took the initiative to deduce what I was trying to do never mind only fixing the error i created on the platform backend. They took initiative to give me the answer to what I was working on - and to advise that they are available to support me fixing it if I so wanted. WOOOOW!!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK - YOUR SERVICE LEVEL IS WORLD CLASS (and this is coming from someone with +20Yrs IT Management experience in Europe)

Afrihost has been great from the start of Activating my service all the way through to setting up my router. Their staff is helpful and well trained to assist. Their feedback on open requests is impeccable. Moving over from Vodacom fibre to Afrihost has been the best move. Looking forward to having them as our ISP. Whenever there is a connection issue, it is resolved quickly, even when the fault is with one of the fibre providers. After a recent lightning storm, the router was struck. Afrihost client support did everything they could from their side to confirm where the issue could be. Diagnosis steps are easy to follow and suggestions are clear and worthwhile. Connectivity is restored quickly and is always up to the specified speeds. Problems will happen but the attitude that Afrihost has proves that they are the best.

General terms

  • Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by Openserve, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.
  • The advertised line speeds are a representation of the maximum possible throughput on that package. This speed is dependent on and varies from exchange to exchange as regulated by Openserve. In certain areas, some speeds are not achievable.
  • Due to Openserve infrastructure restrictions, some line speeds may not be available in your area. Check coverage in your area to see which packages are available in your area.
  • All Pure DSL packages are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Pure DSL accounts are locked to a single location. The location it gets locked to is the location you supply during sign up.
  • Regular Openserve copper line required to apply for a Pure DSL package. A voice line, however, is not required.
  • Performance is subject to contention. This means that data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Afrihost’s control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.
