Afrihost is by far the network service provider with the greatest customer experience. I've recommended all of my extended family members to change over to them and everyone were happy and never experienced any issues. Whatever issues that they may have occurred was instantly report to Afrihost and was taken cared of

Their service is great and the interaction on WhatsApp I was so sceptical if they would able to assist and resolve my issue and they have done it so well and simple

I have been with Afrihost for over 6 years. I have used them both on site and telephonically. Now the new one is via WhatsApp and I have only had excellent service with them. There operators are friendly and make you feel part of the Afrihost family. I would highly recommend them to anyone. My mobile wi-fi works perfectly and so does my email and all my domains work well as well. So I kind of have numerous products of theirs. Give them a try as I would use them again and again. Thank you.

Afrihost may not be the "perfect" service provider (internet in SA still has a long way to go). None of them are, however they go out of their way to support you and address all your concerns. Their website is informative and easy to navigate for information. Their app is convenient and makes it easy to view my invoices or top up my internet. Their whatsapp chat service is available even during awkward hours and you chat to another human being, no nonsense bot or chatgpt ripoff. They really offer a good service overall. And their prices are deliciously reasonable. It's a win for me.

Best internet service provider. Four years of excellent service at my previous resident and now seamless reapplication process. Afrihost are head and shoulders above any other fibre service provider.

I was treated most professionally, competently and with great patience by Sicelo, despite being irate and flustered at month-end. Extremely happy with the service.

Even if I’m not happy with Afrihost sometimes - more lately than ever, I have to give Vallencia a 5🌟 - taking my frustration out on her and she keeps Afrihost’ name up in lights. Can learn a lot from her 😏

For a new prospecting customer, I had great customer service, especially being hearing impaired with the option of getting all required information, suggestions and option via live WhatsApp chat made it very easy and efficient. Very professional, and compassionate, and very knowledgeable and all answers and concerns were addressed with no pressure on the time it took to get everything resolved. Thank you Sicelo, what a great experience first up.

I’d like to commend the support I received. The representative quickly recognized that I’m familiar with routers and computers, and went the extra mile by thoroughly testing my internet connection. He provided clear instructions for running trace routes, asked me to share screenshots of the results, and performed additional checks to ensure the issue was properly addressed.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
