Linda D – Absolute Star at Afrihost ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was frustrated after being kept on hold for a while and, shame, I gave Linda D a bit of attitude out of pure irritation. But wow — she didn’t take it personally. She stayed calm, patient, and helped me with everything I needed. Even when I asked her to transfer the chat, she stuck with me and resolved my issue like a pro. That’s next-level service. Afrihost, you’ve got a real gem on your hands. Big respect!

An amazing company that has excellent customer service consultants. Whenever I need help, my issues are always resolved. Would give 10 stars if I could!

After having received mediocre service from the the folk at Yebo Gogo. It was refreshing to get excellent service without the frustration of call centres. From collection, installation and after sales queries, I received prompt and efficient resolution to all my queries. Great service all round 👏

Even though I had a bit of a run in with you guys in the beginning of this year and was ready to dump you, you are still good people 🤭. My best interactions are with your call agents. I am always lucky to find a guy named Xhanti and he is always so polite and professional. Also I have not had any major issues with your connection.

It's all on the website of course, the help I needed, just not as familiar with jargon and such... chatted with Owen on Wgatsapp Chat, he lustened, paid attention and sorted my query. Did not feel for a moment that I was being dismissed with url's and figure it out. Glad I used the service, and met Owen.

Two years ago I wrote a 3 star review but things have changed since then. When I signed up in 2019, the LTE connectivity was excellent even during loadshedding and stayed that way for a little over a year. Then there was an MTN network outage in January 2021, and after that I had almost zero connectivity during long blackouts, which impacted my productivity. That's when I wrote the 3-star review. I don't know what they did to solve the problem, but around January 2022 the connectivity was as good as it was during loadshedding when I first signed up. After about two years they rewarded my loyalty to them by doubling my monthly data allocation with ZERO price increase, and my router was paid off as well so my monthly instalment actually decreased a little bit. We've been through a pandemic and we're in the midst of the worst economic crisis and the most rapid and frequent inflation increases I've ever had the misfortune of living through, but I've never had to worry about Afrihost. I'm a "difficult" customer, but I had to change my review because as critical as I am of unstable corporates and their non-existent customer service, I'm also quick to applaud business excellence. I have no idea what they're doing or what kind of system they've got in place, but all I can say is that they're doing it right. They're the one brand I'll stay loyal to no matter the cost.

I am a long-time Afrihost client and besides for a wobble in their call center back in 2018 I think, they’ve been wonderful. “Customer-centric” Highly recommended.

All the ISP's have a similar price, but with Afrihost you always get knowledgeable answers and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a reply. They also have an awesome WhatsApp help line.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
