Absolutely the best ISP by Far! Being able to msg on WhatsApp, and the person your chatting to actually fixes the problem or passes it on to another department without any delay, is just superb. Thanks Afrihost!

From my experience Afrihost is a fantastic hosting provider. Servers are pretty stable and I have had almost no technical issues with hosting my websites. They have great packages and options to suit just about anyone's needs. Always something new or specials on offer. Customer service is great. Their client built-in software application and interface is intuitive and really a great tool to get around. This is my post from a while ago - and I stick by it. Recently dealt with Elvirda and George support agents - fantastic. Sandra helped me with my fibre registration - super smooth.

Of all the internet service providers I've been with before, Afrihost is by far the best this far. Undoubtedly the best wireless internet provider in South Africa. The network speeds, amazing! Customer service, real time response! What more can you ask for?

We've had a great experience with Afrihost the past 8 months. The initial set up was super easy and our router arrived quickly. The app is ridiculously user friendly! We are tech savvy people but I do feel that people that aren't will get the hang of it quickly. Being able to get support on WhatsApp is also so convenient. Very happy with our decision to go with Afrihost!

The service received from Afrihost was amazing. I have had 3 interactions with this company since taking a SIM card with them and each instance was handled speedily and the issued effectively resolved. I will highly recommend Afrihost. In fact, I have been a loyal customer with another network since 2010 and considering changing permanently due to the service received..and also the pricing

I would like to express my appreciation for Pinky’s excellent assistance. She clearly explained that when using shared hosting packages, it does not make much difference whether I choose Linux or Windows since I am only creating a simple webpage. Her explanation helped me understand the concept much better and made my decision easier. I truly appreciate her patience and professionalism.

Everyone online: Try Bluehost. Yep. Minimum one year contract. Afrihost: Just pay for whatever is left over of the month! Then monthly. No contract. And cheap. The Whatsapp help is great, and friendly. And their data is cheap and available in many formats. Where I live, LTE data with MTN is available. Also no contract. Beat that Bluehost, Hostinger, whatever. But hey, it's South African. What do you expect.

Nompumelelo was professional and quick to respond. He attended to my problem and fixed it with the first attempt. That shows me the standard of his work. It was good to get this professional support.

Getting started with Pure DSL

How is Pure DSL different from other DSL products?

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

How to get connected to Pure DSL

Follow our Getting Connected guide for step-by-step instructions.

How long will it take to get connected?

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

How to check if you have Pure DSL coverage in your area

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

Will all line speeds be available in covered areas?

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If you do not have Pure DSL coverage in your area

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Shaping and prioritisation

Are your DSL packages shaped?

No, all Pure DSL packages are uncapped, unshaped and unthrottled. There are no usage thresholds so you can use as much data as you like, whenever you like. No throttling or shaping will be applied.

General questions

Is the price of the DSL line included in the package price?

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

Will I have to pay a setup fee?

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Do I need a copper line to use Pure DSL?

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

I do not have a copper line, can I get one installed?

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Can I use my current DSL modem?

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Will my Pure DSL package be locked to a single location?

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Can existing Afrihost DSL clients get Pure DSL?

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.

Follow our Getting Connected guide for instructions on how to get Pure DSL.

Please note that if you change from an older Afrihost DSL package to Pure DSL, you will NOT be able to change back.
