Support and help is fast and great, but there is a problem enforcing SLAs with the fibre network provider. Afrihost hand the problem over to Metrofibre but then their hands is cut of. Thanks for that service. My problem does not reside with Afrihost but with the Fibre network provider. I have a fibre problem now for 3 weeks running and the fibre provider by name Mertofibre does not come out to fix or don't know how to fix the problem. Waiting now 2 weeks for Metrofibre technician to call me or show up. I have VERY SLOWWWW speed. Worse then a 64 k dial-up modem.

Been having wifi issues on fibre for a while. Contacted Afrihost via their whatsapp channel and was professionally assisted by Nonjabulo (for an hour). Tested the line using a laptop with their guidance and confirmed the fibre and speed are what I am paying for. The problem is the router! New one ordered, also with their assistance. One happy customer in the end.

Afrihost is an inexpensive, reliable internet service provider. They piggy-back on my MTN sim card so I don't have to carry a wifi dongle around. The consultants are very confident and knowledgeable so if you have any questions, they are able to assist you quickly and efficiently.

Afrihost is the one ISP that does not tie you to them with a long term contract. They even installed my fibre connection and gave me a wifi router free of charge and with absolutely no strings attached. They do however keep you tied to them by providing very good end-user support. There staff members are all knowledgeable, friendly and efficient in the manner in which they provide support.

Probably one of the best (if not the best) ISP in SA. Never had a bad experience with them. Customer service is on point and their online customer portal (ClientZone) works incredibly well when managing various links. Highly recommended.

General terms

Although we endeavour to keep our coverage data as accurate as possible, we are reliant on the maps provided to us by Openserve, which may sometimes have slight inaccuracies.
The advertised line speeds are a representation of the maximum possible throughput on that package. This speed is dependent on and varies from exchange to exchange as regulated by Openserve. In certain areas, some speeds are not achievable.
Due to Openserve infrastructure restrictions, some line speeds may not be available in your area. Check coverage in your area to see which packages are available in your area.
All Pure DSL packages are subject to an Acceptable Use Policy.
Pure DSL accounts are locked to a single location. The location it gets locked to is the location you supply during sign up.
Regular Openserve copper line required to apply for a Pure DSL package. A voice line, however, is not required.
Performance is subject to contention. This means that data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Afrihost’s control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

Getting started with Pure DSL

Unlike regular DSL, you do NOT need to pay for a voice landline that you don’t even use. With Pure DSL you only pay for the DSL line rental and data - saving you more than R200 every month!

Once you’ve signed up for a Pure DSL package, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Checking Pure DSL coverage

Use our Coverage Tool to check if DSL is available in your area.

No, not all line speeds will be available in all covered areas. This is because of infrastructure restrictions on Openserve’s side. Please use our Coverage Tool to check which packages are available in your area.

If DSL is not available in your area, we’ll check if any of our other data solutions are available. You can also choose to give us your details and we’ll let you know as soon as one of our Internet solutions becomes available in your area.

Yes, the price you see is the price you pay! All Pure DSL packages are bundled, so the price is for both your data and the line rental, all-inclusive.

No, if you sign up with Pure DSL today, we will cover the setup fee of R999. Please note that this is a limited offer and Afrihost reserves the right to change this at any time.

Yes, you’ll need an existing copper line at your premises to connect to Pure DSL. You do not, however, need to pay for voice line rental to get connected to Pure DSL. You only need to pay for the DSL line rental and data.

Please note that because Pure DSL is a separate service from regular DSL, Openserve will have to install the new DSL services at your premises. This can take up to 14 working days.

Unfortunately Openserve will NOT do any new installations of copper lines.

Yes, you can use any DSL-ready Wi-Fi modem with Pure DSL. Need a new modem? Check out our DSL Modems and Wi-Fi page for more information.

Yes, Pure DSL packages are locked to a single location.

Yes, existing Afrihost DSL clients can sign up for Pure DSL.

Please note, however, that Pure DSL is a service separate from your existing DSL Internet. You’ll have to sign up for a new package via our website and Openserve will have to install new DSL services at your premises.
